Giving Back

Radiology, Inc.'s century of caring for our community is also demonstrated by our commitment to giving back to our hospital partners and local communities through a combination of time and treasure. We established a Private Foundation in 1989 in order to better establish our giving program and over the past several decades have given to hundreds of local organizations such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club of Goshen, Hope Mission, Family and Children's Center, and WNIT Public Television, just to name a few. We also established the Joseph L. Wind Scholarship Fund in 2017 through Indiana University of South Bend. This fund provides scholarships to students in the IU School of Radiologic Technology program.

Our giving goes well beyond financial. It is not uncommon to find a physician, employee or family member of Radiology, Inc. serving on local boards such as the South Bend Community School Board, Pottawatomi Zoo, Habitat for Humanity, or YWCA; or as a committee person for the IU Medical School's Medicine Ball.

We are also very involved serving our hospital partners in ways which go well beyond providing medical services. Many of our physicians have served as Medical Staff Officers, as well as serving as leaders on the Boards of our health systems. Our physicians also volunteer significant time teaching young physicians still in training, as we recognize the importance of having well trained physicians remain in our local community.

Our corporate culture of giving back extends to our employees, as well. They have participated in many local fundraising events such as the Homeward Bound Walk, Sunburst Races, and Walk to Cure Diabetes; and they have sponsored local families in need during the holiday season through collections for the Clay High School Food bank, clothing drives for the local women's shelter, or through giving to the Christmas Commando program. They have even established their own internal fundraising drive through a "Blue Jeans Friday" program which has contributed over $40,000 in the last few years to community charities such as local food banks, pet rescue organizations and child welfare programs.

We are proud of our history of giving back to the community and are hopeful that our efforts will impact the lives of those in our community, in addition to making St. Joseph, Elkhart, La Porte, and Starke Counties better places to live.
